EMRO to Build Next-Generation Procurement Portal for Kolon Industries… Powering AI-Driven Intelligent Procurement Innovation
- A next-generation procurement portal to comprehensively support category-specific strategic sourcing, development procurement, operational procurement, and supplier management.
- Aims to secure cost competitiveness and supply chain resilience by integrating EMRO’s deep materials/chemicals industry expertise, global standard procurement capabilities, and advanced Agentic AI technology.
June 29, 2026 – EMRO(KOSDAQ: 058970), Korea’s leading AI-powered SRM software company, announced today that it will build a next-generation procurement portal system for Kolon Industries, a comprehensive materials and chemicals manufacturer in South Korea.
The project is driven by a proactive response to rapidly shifting internal and external environments, including increasing complexity in procurement operations, expanding supply chain risks and regulations, and intensifying market uncertainty. The core objective is to establish a unified portal that supports Kolon Industries’ entire procurement lifecycle—encompassing strategic sourcing, development procurement, operational procurement, and supplier management. Through this, the company aims to enhance strategic sourcing capabilities, structurally innovate its procurement processes, and simultaneously secure cost competitiveness and supply stability.
In the materials and chemicals industry, where raw material costs account for a high percentage of manufacturing expenses and key commodity prices are highly volatile, securing a stable supply of raw materials and achieving cost competitiveness through category-specific, strategic supply chain management is paramount. To implement an integrated procurement process optimized for Kolon Industries, EMRO will analyze internal and external data across diverse purchasing categories. Based on these insights, EMRO will support continuous strategic sourcing by establishing tailored procurement strategies for each category.
Furthermore, the project will establish a collaborative environment for "development procurement," enabling the company to select optimal materials and suppliers right from the product development stage and systematically manage target costs. In the new procurement portal, even if raw material changes become inevitable during the new product design and development phases, users can leverage AI to rapidly search for alternative materials and calculate expected material costs through simulations. This is expected to boost both product and pricing competitiveness.
In addition, core procurement operations such as operational purchasing and supplier management will be automated utilizing Agentic AI. For instance, the system will use Agentic AI to monitor and share supplier risk-related news in real-time, allowing proactive responses to supply chain disruptions. This application of Agentic AI is expected to significantly improve operational efficiency and accuracy across Kolon Industries' procurement department.
Following system analysis, design, development, and integrated testing, EMRO plans to complete the deployment of Kolon Industries' next-generation procurement portal by the second half of this year.
"This project brings together EMRO’s unmatched procurement expertise and technological prowess, integrating our best practices accumulated in the materials and chemicals sector, global standard procurement functionalities, and domain-specific Agentic AI technologies," an EMRO official said. "We are fully committed to ensuring a successful transition to intelligent procurement innovation for Kolon Industries."
