August 12, 2024 – Emro Inc. (KOSDAQ: 058970), Korea’s leading AI-based SRM software company, announced that it has begun a global integrated procurement system implementation project for HL Mando.
Emro has secured a contract for a Procurement Integrated System PI (Process Innovation) Consulting and System Implementation project that will be applied across HL Mando’s domestic and overseas operations, the company said on August 12. With extensive experience and deep expertise in procurement system implementation within the automotive industry, as well as a strong track record of rolling out procurement systems for overseas subsidiaries and affiliates of major Korean enterprises, Emro expects the partnership with HL Mando to further expand its customer portfolio and strengthen its market position.
The project aims to establish standardized procurement processes to be applied across eight HL Mando production sites worldwide, including Korea, the United States, China, Mexico, India, and Poland, and to build a system capable of executing a unified global procurement strategy based on these standards.
As the global automotive industry undergoes rapid change amid prolonged trade disputes, escalating geopolitical risks, and heightened volatility in raw material prices, market uncertainty affecting production continues to grow. In response, automotive parts manufacturers are increasingly required to establish agile and closely connected supply chain management frameworks with suppliers distributed around the world in order to respond swiftly to market fluctuations.
To support HL Mando’s digital procurement transformation and strengthen its ability to respond to supply chain disruptions, Emro will first conduct PI consulting to analyze current procurement operations and unique requirements at each of HL Mando’s domestic and overseas sites. Based on this analysis, Emro will design global standard procurement processes alongside country- or entity-specific processes where localization is required. The company will then integrate and advance previously fragmented procurement systems using digital technologies, enhancing operational efficiency, user convenience, and end-to-end visibility across global procurement processes.
Notably, the project will leverage Emro’s newly upgraded SRM software, SMARTsuite v10.0. Designed to address increasingly complex procurement operations and diverse enterprise requirements, SMARTsuite v10.0 embeds advanced cost management capabilities and procurement-specialized AI functions from the early stages of new product development, delivering them in an integrated solution. By strengthening development procurement functions—whose importance continues to grow, particularly in manufacturing—companies adopting SMARTsuite v10.0 can maximize cost reduction opportunities and enhance cost competitiveness even before full-scale mass production begins.
Emro plans to complete PI consulting and process design by November, finalize construction of the global integrated procurement system in the first half of next year, and deploy the system across HL Mando’s domestic and overseas sites in the second half of the year.
“Amid rising global raw material prices and inflationary pressures, demand continues to grow for next-generation procurement systems that help companies reduce costs and mitigate supply chain risks,” said an Emro official. “Starting with HL Mando, leading Korean enterprises across various industries are already choosing SMARTsuite v10.0, accelerating the digital transformation of procurement operations.”
